Description: FindIt is an application for building, editing, validating and executing regular expressions. Most data processing applications rely heavily on regular expressions to do format validation and text substitutions. Some common uses of regular expressions include HTML form input validation, document feed processing, HTML and XML authoring, code altering, configuration management and company-wide policy enforcement. Working within the FindIt environment, you can construct anything from a simple number format matching expression to a complex multi-alternation composite expression that can be used to parse data feeds. The regular expression created using FindIt can then be reused in any data processing application that supports Perl style regex. Graphical User Interface (GUI) pattern builder uses simple English phrases as basic building blocks for all regular expressions. The user can choose to color-code different elements of the expression to make it easier to identify which parts have matched the target text Advanced regex users may find the native Perl regex support useful for fine-tuning of their expressions. The real-time matching support enables regular expression validation as the user types the pattern. All elements that successfully matched the target text are highlighted with the user-defined colors. In addition, the match result panel provides a graphical view of all matches and captures. FindIt's preview feature allows all text modifications to be previewed in a separate window. FindIt 2.0 includes many new features and enhancements that make it more suitable for professional work. New features and enhancements include: - Loading/Saving of patterns - Support for "Exactly" "Minimum" and "Maximum" quantifiers - Nested element blocks - New "Matches" view displays tree structure of match results and captures - Switch panels - Optional capturing of elements - Public Java API makes it possible to integrate FindIt with other Java apps Click here for more information
