Description: FlawDetector is a new Java static testing and consistency checking tool from Excelsior. It works by formally analysing the code of the entire program and thus is capable of finding bugs that were overlooked during your conventional testing procedures due to insufficient coverage. Consistency checks implemented in FlawDetector reveal problems that may result from incomplete recompilation or version conflicts between classes and jars constituting your application. The main distinctive feature of our product is the optimal balance between analysis strength and resource requirements. Excelsior FlawDetector is capable of finding bugs in real world applications comprising thousands of classes (such as Eclipse platform) within reasonable time even when working on inexpensive hardware configurations. It also saves your time by not producing tons of superfluous warnings which is common for static analysis tools. FlawDetector is a JBuilder OpenTool and Eclipse plug-in, but may also be used from the command line. For instance, you may wish to invoke it from your night build script and browse/compare logs in the morning to find out whether any new bug was introduced yesterday.
